Summer 2014 Releases (Part 2) June 23 2014
Along with CRIME's Murder By Guitar archival LP which we announced a couple weeks ago, our second batch of Summer releases includes two first-time vinyl reissues: PETER JEFFERIES' brilliant sophomore album, Electricity, and GRUPPO D'IMPROVVISAZIONE NUOVA CONSONANZA's ultra-rare self-titled album from 1973.
Electricity is a sparse and nocturnal affair. JEFFERIES' (THIS KIND OF PUNISHMENT, NOCTURNAL PROJECTIONS, etc.) earthy baritone weaves between piano, guitar, cello and analog tape machine noise, pulling in listeners to the deep pastoral life of his music. Get it here.
Led by Franco Evangelisti and Ennio Morricone, GRUPPO advanced the innovations of 20th century avant-garde in laboratory-like studio settings where the intuitive interplay between members flourished. Get it here.
